Goudhurst Village and the Route of the former Hop Pickers Railway

The walk follows footpaths alongside the route of the former railway line; past the 15th-16th century Pattyndenne Manor and the 16th century Smugley Farmhouse; then climbs up to the medieval center of Goudhurst Village on the hill, and concludes at a former oast house for optional lunch and drink.

About the event

This walk is led by David Boniface - Hop Pickers Line Heritage Group. Booking is required via the website registration. Plan to turn up a good 10 minutes before the start time.

Walk duration: 2.5 hrs

Walk details: The walk starts and ends at the car park near the cross roads at the village centre. It is classed as Leisurely, gradients of 15%, five stiles and five gates.
